Overview

Kristala reached out to us with a clear challenge - as an early-access title, their sales numbers were dwindling despite a successful launch. With a major update on the way, they needed attention fast. We launched a two-pronged campaign: a targeted PR push earning coverage in some of the biggest gaming publications, combined with a guerrilla Reddit strategy that pushed Kristala to the front pages of the biggest gaming subreddits.

We knew that Kristala had fantastic hooks for journalists - a souls-like game with a neat twist (who doesn't like cats?), and with exceptional visuals. We wrote press releases, and liaised with journalists - earning them coverage in mainstream outlets like PCGamer, IGN (YouTube and publication), PCGamesN, and GamesRadar.

GUERILLA REDDIT POSTS HITTING THE FRONT-PAGE

We were having problems posting to mainstream subreddits without getting their posts removed. We used our ultra high-karma Reddit accounts, in conjunction with our PR activities - to create authoritative posts on subreddits like r/gaming, r/indiegaming and r/indiegames - boosting them so that they appeared on the front page of the subreddits.
